Meet M&IW’s Hospitality Heroes

May 15, 2024  | Written by MIW Team

Allow us to introduce ourselves: We’re M&IW’s Hospitality Heroes. That’s right! Every M&IW employee, including our onsite staff, is a proud Hospitality Hero. It’s an important part of our culture and one of the many advantages of partnering with us in planning your meetings, events, or incentive programs.

But what exactly is a Hospitality Hero? We’re glad you asked…

The History of Hospitality Heroes

The term Hospitality Hero was first introduced in 2017, and since then, it has become a trademark of our service. In fact, employees are given a Hospitality Hero pin to wear onsite or at industry events. Simply put, it’s a description of who we are as a company.

To our team, it is a reminder of our positive, supportive culture and our customer-centric approach. To our customers, it is a reminder that we will always go above and beyond in providing superb service and unforgettable experiences.

Hospitality Heroes in Action

We’re proud of our team, and we’re not the only ones. Our kudos program allows customers or fellow M&IW team members to give shoutouts to employees who truly embody what it means to be a Hospitality Hero.

This program is so popular—and our team does such outstanding work—that multiple kudos are given daily. Here’s just a small sample of recent kudos our team members have received.

Beyond Thankful

“You are all so talented, organized, methodical, focused, professional, prepared, expert, and INCREDIBLE! THANK YOU—I received a million compliments on the meeting, facility, food, sessions… YOU! And I made sure to let them know that it is all YOU that made this happen. Thank you can never be a strong enough word for all that you have done to make us successful.”

–Kudos for Katey Sandleben, Sr. Event Experience Manager; Emily Kendrick, Customer Success Specialist; Maggy Kacmar, Customer Success Lead; and Mary Tocci, Customer Success Director, from a customer

Fantastic from Start to Finish

“Thank you, Anna, for your fantastic work on a customer’s recent supplier forum. This is a high-level annual meeting with a customer who has very high expectations. From the moment of assignment, you have been extremely communicative, asking all the right questions and managing the attendee experience so well! The response time and availability given to the customer was fantastic and exactly what was needed. Thank you for all your pre-planning efforts. Onsite, you were equally outstanding, always personable, professional, and available to coordinate the details. Thank you again for all your dedication and hard work!”

Timely Teamwork

“Big shoutout to the team that helped create our incentive trip last week! Conversations first started for this event just over two months ago, and in that time a fabulous hotel was sourced and contracted; a full budget developed; a registration website created, launched, and managed; gifts sourced; meal functions planned; flights booked; and a full incentive program for 75 people was locked into place! Congrats to Kelly, Jess, Keilee, Peggy, and Sara who helped make this a reality. The event was a great success thanks to the team’s speedy but thoughtful work, and we already know we want to do it again next year! We couldn’t have done this without you!”

–Kudos for Kelly Fuller, Sr. Event Experience Manager; Jessica Flaska, Destination & Design Associate; Keilee Bentz, Coordinator, Group Travel; Peggy Polick, Sr. Engagement Consultant; and Sara Bowling, Project Manager, Attendee Experience, from a customer

A True Partner

“Just heading home after another amazing onsite experience with Nancy. In the customer’s words, ‘I love Nancy! She is a true partner.’ We will be back at it again onsite with the customer next week, and there is no doubt that Nancy is the key to this partnership. She is the VERY best at building trust through her knowledge, professionalism, kindness, compassion, and authenticity.”
